Guided Group Sunrise Hike: Cascade Mountain

Are you ready for a High Peaks winter adventure? Do you long to experience that orange morning glow over the mountains you’ve only seen in pictures? James Appleton and 46 Outdoors invites you to an unforgettable guided group SUNRISE hike on Cascade Mountain Sunday, 3/17.

If you’ve never experienced the magic of a winter sunrise from an Adirondack High Peak, this is the hike for you. Our guided group hikes promise spectacular scenery and camaraderie in the company of like-minded ADK hikers. We will also summit Porter Mountain while we’re up there.

Prepare for the Adventure:

Ensure you have the necessary winter gear, including but not limited to:

  • Insulated boots
  • Microspikes AND snowshoes
  • Layered, moisture-wicking clothing (base layer, mid-layer, top-layer)
  • Adequate food and water
  • Emergency supplies

Snowshoes are required and can be rented at local outfitters in Lake Placid. Let James know ahead of time and he can point you in the right direction.

Winter Hiking Notice:

Winter in the Adirondacks brings a unique beauty but also inherent risks. Be prepared for cold temperatures, deep snow, and changing conditions. This hike is for those who are physically prepared, mentally prepared, and properly equipped for a full day of winter hiking. By signing up, participants acknowledge the inherent dangers and accept that they are hiking at their own risk.


Cancellation Policy:

At 46 Outdoors, we understand that plans can change and we strive to be as flexible as possible. However, to ensure fairness and manage preparations for our guided hikes, we adhere to the following cancellation policy:

  • Weather-Related Cancellations: The safety of our participants and guides is our top priority. In the event of a hike cancellation by 46 Outdoors due to extreme weather conditions, a full refund will be issued to all registered participants.
  • Participant Cancellations: If you need to cancel your registration, please note the following:
    • More than 48 Hours Notice: Cancellations made with more than 48 hours notice before the scheduled start of the hike will incur a 10% cancellation fee.
    • Less than 48 Hours Notice: Unfortunately, cancellations made within 48 hours of the hike’s start time cannot be refunded.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our cancellation policy. This allows us to offer the best experience possible while respecting the needs and safety of our community. If you have any questions or need to discuss your registration, please do not hesitate to contact us.



Participants agree to undertake this hike at their own risk. 46 Outdoors and its guides are not liable for any accidents, injuries, or damages resulting from participation in this event. It is the responsibility of each hiker to assess their physical condition, equipment, and skills before embarking on this adventure. Summiting every mountain is not guaranteed since conditions and weather can be unpredictable. By signing up you understand these parameters and agree to hike at your own risk.
